The Medieval Village

Stretched from southeast to northwest along the ridge of a hill, Mombaroccio (20 km from Pesaro) is entirely surrounded by strong walls protecting the ancient castle.

It was founded in the 13th century and was closely dependent on the city of Pesaro until 1543.

A characteristic feature is the majestic Porta Maggiore, which represents the symbol of the village, enclosed between two cylindrical towers.

The succession of the noble families

Originally, the city was governed by the Malatesta family, under whom the urban planning was defined.

They were followed by the Sforza, who implemented new offensive and defensive strategies through new fortification measures.

Later, the ducal decision (by the Della Rovere family) was made to free this community from its difficult provincial dependence, subinfeudating it to Lord Ranieri, of the Del Monte marquises.

Society at the forefront

Mombaroccio was a model of an advanced society, especially under the guidance of the Del Monte Marquises, called by the Sforza, particularly with Guidubaldo (son of Count Ranieri), a collaborator of Galileo Galilei and a study companion of Torquato Tasso.

In the palace that belonged to him, there is a laboratory that recreates some of the experiments he conducted together with Galileo.

Famous places nearby

Nearby Mombaroccio stands the 13th-century Franciscan convent of "Beato Sante". Inside, the Museum dedicated to Giansante Brancorsini is preserved, a scion of a noble family who, after a bloody event, had come to the convent to become a Franciscan.
Over time, the convent underwent both the Napoleonic and Savoy suppressions, and only later could the friars return to turn it into an important center for religious and social activities.

During World War II, around three hundred people sought refuge there, including many Jews who escaped Nazi deportations.
From the cloister, one can access the room of the Pinacoteca-Museum, where authentic masterpieces of diverse culture and origin are preserved.

Commitment to the territory

The most populous area of Mombaroccio, Villagrande, hosts a large industrial zone. In this area, MCS MOBILI operates with three covered plants, which, when combined with the external surface, reach a total of 90,000 square meters.

The company has been active in the area for 27 years and is a cornerstone of this wonderful municipality. Over the years, several initiatives have been proposed to enhance the village, creating synergy between the private and public sectors, keeping the name of Mombaroccio high in the Marche region and Italy.
Today, MCS MOBILI wants to get even closer to the village of Mombaroccio by promoting its own projects, launching branding campaigns, and trying to raise awareness among the citizens of Pesaro about the beauty of this territory. All of this will be possible thanks to a youthful and attentive municipal administration, close to both industries and citizens.
